Trout Lake Emergency Services Site

Bovey

JPJ Engineering created a site design for the Trout Lake Emergency Services Department. The City of Bovey and the City of Coleraine combined emergency services, including Fire and Police Departments in 2015, developing a new building and site to house the combined services. Also joining the new site were satellite offices for the Minnesota State Patrol and Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

In order to complete the building, poor soil needed to be removed from under the building to a depth of 13 feet and replaced with new compacted material to provide the necessary building support. JPJ Engineering coordinated the soils work with Geotechnical Engineers.

JPJ Engineering provided:

  • topographical survey of the site to delineate significant features related to the development of the site. Elevation shots throughout the site and locations of visible improvements such as buildings, driveways, utility structures, and the adjacent County Road. JPJ Engineering utilized the Gopher State One Call System for buried utilities on the site- soil boring locations were identified site design work for the facility
  • removal of the existing structure, utility services; water, sewer, natural gas, and electric
  • final site plans and specifications for the civil site improvements
  • final site/grading plan
  • utility improvements
  • details
  • typical section
  • temporary/permanent erosion/sediment control plan
